Olivia joined The SILC Group in 2021 as an intern where she developed knowledge and skills across the various functions within the Portfolio Solutions team. Olivia’s experience gave her valuable understanding of the business and allowed her to progress within The SILC Group, becoming an Associate under the Portfolio Solutions team.
She also provides administrative support in relation to the SILC Philanthropic Foundation.
Olivia is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Psychological Science at Deakin University.
Linzie has over 10 years of experience in financial services previously working with major superannuation funds such as Guild Super and Sunsuper focussing on client management. She also worked as a Program Director at Pharmacy Alliance where she expanded the business in pharmaceutical industry and Asia markets.
Linzie holds a MBA and a Master of Marketing from The University of Melbourne (Melbourne Business School). She also holds a diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning, a Bachelor of Business (specialising in Financial management) and Bachelor of Health Science (major in Public Health Policy).
Julian Tjiong is a Software Engineer at The SILC Group. His responsibilities include building application projects required by the company.
Julian joined The SILC Group in 2021 through an RMIT University project where he was tasked to build the silc.co digital platform with other members of the IT team. Throughout the time working for company, he has developed new skills including backend development frameworks (Laravel, Django), frontend frameworks (React.js) and DevOps (AWS).
Julian holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Jen joined The SILC Group in 2021 after 3 years with TAEL Partners, a South-east asia based growth private equity fund manager where she served as Associate in the investor relations team. Here, her responsibilities spanned capital fundraising and fund portfolio monitoring. Prior to TAEL, Jen was involved in community fundraising at the Dane County, Wisconsin chapter of United Way Worldwide where she conducted workplace campaigns and raised funds from Madison’s corporate community.
Jen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kristen started her career at Ernst & Young in the Audit division providing audit and assurance services to clients in the Financial Services industry, before moving into the Financial Services industry as Fund Accountant for Colonial First State. At Colonial First State, Kristen was responsible for the administration and accounting for the company’s various Managed Funds.
Kristen has also held a number of positions at JBWere Limited including Capital Markets Accountant and Group Accountant. As the Capital Markets Accountant, Kristen undertook the preparation of the company accounts for JBWere Capital Markets and its six subsidiaries. Kristen was then promoted to the role of Group Accountant, reporting directly to the CFO and Head of the Treasury. In her capacity as Group Accountant, Kristen was responsible for the preparation of company accounts of Were Stockbroking and the full consolidated accounts for the JBWere Group at financial year end.
Kristen holds various qualifications including a Bachelor of Commerce through the University of Melbourne and the Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Program.
Koby is the founder, AFSL Responsible Manager and Group Managing Director of The SILC Group. He is responsible for driving the growth of the business, setting strategic direction, risk management and business development activities of The SILC Group alongside the leadership team.
Prior to establishing The SILC Group, Koby enjoyed a highly successful career in global financial markets and private wealth management with major financial institutions Westpac Banking Corporation, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, National Australia Bank and Wilson HTM Investment Group.
He holds numerous qualifications including the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course, Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Program, a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting, Commercial Law, Finance) through Deakin University, Diploma in Financial Advising from the Securities Institute of Australia (now Kaplan Professional), and Advanced Certificate in Management Skills from RMIT; as well as having various industry certifications which include the Margin Lending Accreditation Program, Accredited Derivatives Adviser (Level 1), and Diploma of Financial Services from the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA).
Koby is an active investor in alternative assets including venture capital, private equity, private credit and property development. He is also on the Board of Directors at the Northern Health Foundation, is a Director of the SILC Philanthropic Foundation, and is a member of Family Business Australia (FBA), the AICD and CPA Australia.
Michelle Tay is the Group Executive Director, AFSL Responsible Manager and Head of Group Services at The SILC Group. Her key responsibilities encompasses oversight of the company’s financial management, taxation and regulatory compliance, and operational risk management as well as investor relations and communication.
Michelle is an experienced banking and finance executive, with particular experience in syndicated corporate and structured financing, agency services and corporate management. During her tenure at the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, she managed a portfolio of large complex syndicated corporate and structured finance transactions across multiple industries and geographies. She also has extensive experience in business and corporate banking, property development financing and corporate management across all areas of business operations, financial management and taxation and regulatory compliance.
She holds various qualifications including the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) course, Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) program, Masters of Applied Finance through the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (now KAPLAN Professional) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) through Monash University.
She is Chairwoman of the SILC Philanthropic Foundation and is also a member of AICD, CPA Australia and Family Business Australia (FBA).
Jeff Feng is an Associate Director at The SILC Group with a particular focus on the Chinese market. His main activities include transaction services support on corporate advisory transactions, as well as developing and fostering relationships with key Chinese partners and clients for ventures and investments into businesses, vendors, projects and assets globally.
Jeff started his career at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) before moving to Shenwan Hongyuan Securities Company, one of the largest listed securities companies in China. As a manager in their investment banking division, Jeff was involved in a variety of activities including corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings (Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges), and private placements.
His main responsibilities involved strategic business planning, project development and management, stakeholder communications and development, and to provide strategic oversight of operational and financial functions, conducting due diligence and analysis to multiple projects as well as dealing with various regulatory bodies including the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ).
Jeff holds various qualifications including a Bachelor of Commerce through the University of Melbourne and Master of Applied Finance through Monash University.
Liam joined The SILC Group in 2019 through an internship where he spent time working with members of the operations team to develop his knowledge and skills in various aspects of the overall business. Following the completion of his university studies, Liam joined the Capital Solutions team where he supports investor relations activities, engages with asset sponsors, undertakes business process improvement, and builds client relationships across various deals, projects and assets. He is also involved with the Digital Solutions business unit and the development of the silc.co platform.
Liam holds a Bachelor of Economics and Finance (Business) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He is currently undertaking the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association – Fundamentals of Alternative Investments program.
Having had experience in retail e-commerce including at Amazon.com, Umair has a willingness to learn with a focus to deliver result-driven value. At Amazon, he was responsible for risk assessment and Intellectual Property audit of seller businesses and their products. He has also worked as an Intern Analyst as part of his graduate school program for an Energy Company bringing his expertise and skillset to transform its traditional process from traditional methods into digital solutions.
He holds a post-graduate degree in Information Technology from RMIT University and a graduate degree in Computer Engineering from Osmania University.
Thao Vien is a Manager, Portfolio Solutions at The SILC Group. She is responsible for the compliance functions of the funds management and trustee solution businesses, as well as assisting investment manager onboarding, fund establishment and ongoing supervision.
She works closely with clients to ensure establishment of a suitably tailored, legal and tax compliant fund structure and the corresponding compliance requirements are understood. Her other responsibilities include fund-related document review, relationship management and support of fund operations.
With over ten years of combined experience, Thao has gained valuable knowledge across operations and compliance functions working in funds and investment management industry. She developed her client services skills at BlackRock Investment Management (Australia) Limited before moving into a custodial role at MLC Limited focusing on reconciliation and data integrity. She then diversified her skills as a Senior Operations Analyst at Praemium in separately managed accounts and utilised her consolidated experience at Copia Investments Partners as a Portfolio Administrator.
Thao holds a Bachelor of Business (Financial and Risk Management) from Victoria University.
Philip is an experienced banking and financial services executive with over 25 years experience in both Australian and international markets, having held senior executives roles with National Australia Bank, ANZ Bank and Citigroup largely focusing on driving business growth and profitability across Australian, Asian and US markets.
Until recently, Philip was also the Founder and Group Managing Director of Lachlan Partners which he developed and oversaw until it was sold to IOOF (as part of the Shadforth group) in August 2014. He has a very impressive history and extensive experience of building high growth and enduring businesses, in particular servicing private business owners, entrepreneurs, families and high net worth individuals.
Philip holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Tax, and has completed management and finance programs with the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and the Melbourne Business School, and is a member of Chartered Accountants – Australia & New Zealand.
He has over 30 years’ experience at Senior Executive and board level in the financial services industry, followed by 15 years in Leadership and Management Consulting providing career direction, coaching and business support to many leading Melbourne based executives and managers. He commenced his career with the National Australia Bank serving in various senior roles in Australia, United States, UK and Asia which culminated into Senior Executive appointments within the bank’s Melbourne headquarters. Bryan then moved to the Bank of Melbourne following its conversion from a building society to a full banking licence where he was Executive Director and Chief General Manager for Banking.
Bryan has held several non-executive board positions which complements his extensive business experience, and included Chairman of a small Private Equity firm, taking a start up to IPO and merging that company with AAV Ltd (Staging Connections Group Limited; which became an ASX Listed company) where he was a Director and Chairman. Other directorships include Chairman of the logistics company Gaffneys Event logistics.
Bryan was Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; and he has an accreditation in MRG Leadership LEA and Personal Directors, Diploma of Business (RMIT) and Advanced Management Program from the University of NSW.
Ben has extensive Board and Senior Executive experience in Financial Services, Manufacturing Corporations, Not-For-Profit, Education and Entrepreneurial organisations. His experience includes Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Banking, IT, Accounting & Manufacturing.
Ben is currently a Board Member of Frontier Services and a member of the Uniting Church in Australia National Assembly Investment Advisory Committee, and Managing Director of Quantum Change Consultants.
Some of his previous Directorships include: Swinburne University; cvMail; Elders Finance; Potter Warburg; Uniting Church National Assembly Audit, Finance and Risk Committee; Methodist Ladies College; and Victorian State President of CPA Australia.Senior Executive positions he has held include: Chief Executive Officer of cvMail; Director of Finance and Administration Potter Warburg (subsequently UBS); Director of Elders Finance Group which was at that time, the largest Merchant Bank in Australia; a member of the Certification Council of Bureau Veritas Quality International; Director of the Australian Continuous Improvement Group (the Australian arm of Cap Gemini); and a Group Financial Controller of ICI Australia (now Orica Ltd).
Ben is a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA) and he holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of New South Wales.
Roland’s Banking and Financial services career spans more than 40 years having held a number of Senior Executive roles at the National Australia Bank Group. Roland’s responsibilities encompassed Group strategy development and strategic planning, Group capital policy and management and investment prioritisation, mergers , acquisitions and divestments, Group performance management , investor relations and government relations, Group corporate affairs and communications, Group program office and strategic portfolio analysis, economics and research, transformational change management and business development and sponsorship of new ventures.
As a Group EGM and a member of the Group Executive Committee, Roland also sat on a number of group decision making and steering committees including Group Capital & Asset and Liability (ALCO), Group Risk Policy, Board and Management Lending Committee, Group Strategy Committee, People Assessment and Talent panel, Wealth Management, E-Commerce and Technology and the Strategic Projects’ Assessment Committee. Roland also served on several Banking Industry committees and was a past Chairman of the Australian Bankers Association Executive Committee.
Roland has considerable directorship and governance experience as a Group Executive and an Executive Director/Chairman on numerous wholly owned NAB subsidiaries in Australia, UK, Ireland and New Zealand Operations comprising commercial banks, superannuation and trustee boards, insurance, credit card, leasing, nominee services, custodial services, funds administration services and health funds processing and administration and the Banking Ombudsman.

Roland holds an MBA from the Melbourne Business School, and Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne. He is a Fellow of the AICD and FINSIA and is a graduate of the Transformational Leadership course from the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia.
Daniel has more than a decade of experience across multiple sectors primarily in banking, investment management, stockbroking and platforms servicing both wholesale and retail markets.
Prior to joining The SILC Group, Daniel’s most recent role was with Mason Stevens where he expanded and managed a portfolio of adviser groups, financial planners and investment managers. Other organisation’s he has also worked for include CommSec Adviser Services (wholesale arm of Commonwealth Bank), and Computershare where he covered capital raising, investment lending and managing employee equity plans for ASX and internationally listed companies.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Macquarie University and a Diploma in Financial Services and Planning from KAPLAN Professional. He has also completed both Accredited Derivatives Adviser Level 1 and 2 courses through the Stockbrokers and Financial Advisers.
He has a varied background in Risk Management for over 30 years, with his previous roles including Foreign Exchange Trading and Advisory, Interest Rate Risk Management, Derivative Structuring and Synthetic Debt Structuring which included advisory to Institutional, Corporate and Commercial clients. Daryl’s most recent role was Head of Assurance (Australia) for the Markets Operations Unit of a major Australian Trading Bank which involved Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance for that business.
Daryl is also experienced in the Not-for-Profit (NFP) sector which includes being past Chair of the Victorian Chapter of the Finance and Treasury Association, past Board Member of a Melbourne Private Member’s Club, past Deputy Chair of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), immediate past President of the Victorian Divisional Council of the IPA and current member of its Accounting Faculty.
He is also currently Board Director of the Australian SME Alliance Ltd, a Fellow of the IPA, Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a Fellow of the Finance and Treasury Association, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
As a full stack developer, Manan is a coding and programming specialist with proficiency in PHP, Javascript, Python and Java.
Manan is currently in his final year at RMIT University where he is working towards a Bachelor of Computer Science.
Trevor has been involved in financial markets for over 25 years specialising in equity derivative and risk management products. Significant roles include 7 years working in Hong Kong for UBS as director of its risk management group covering investment solutions for its institutional and hedge fund client base. Most recently Trevor was a partner at a volatility hedge fund designed to implement cost efficient hedging solutions within investor portfolios. Trevor has a passion for the alternative asset class, quantitative processes and the construction of superior non-correlated investments outcomes for wholesale client investors.
Trevor holds various qualifications including a Bachelor of Business through the University of Technology Sydney, a Master of Applied Finance through FINSIA and is currently undertaking a Master of Forensic Accounting and Financial Crime through Macquarie University.
Michael’s impressive background includes experience in the Federal public service, international management consulting in productivity (incorporating business analysis, business system design, implementation and post-implementation review), general management of a commercial division of ASX, corporate strategist for NAB, stock broking analyst in a leading Australian stockbroker, senior strategic planner for CBA, as well as investor relations, corporate planning and senior finance roles in leading Australian corporations.
His academic qualifications include a Masters in Applied Finance from Macquarie University, an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Swinburne University of Technology. His Ph.D. thesis on the theory of dominant logic in organisational behaviour won a prestigious award for most distinguished PhD thesis. He has also taught in the MBA programs at Swinburne and RMIT.
In addition to his Advisory Board responsibilities with The SILC Group, Michael operates his own consulting, coaching and training business.
Chris is a highly experienced senior business executive with an extensive background in providing financial, management and strategic products, services and advice to industry. He has over 30 years experience and a broad industry background in business generation, management and strategy development. He has a substantial track record in structuring and arranging complex financings for companies and projects, in Australia and internationally, across all major industry sectors and particularly the natural resources, power and telecommunications sectors.
He began his career as a metallurgist and environmental specialist, diversifying into commercial roles at several major industrial companies and subsequently banking and financial services, including project finance, corporate and project advisory roles at AIDC, The Chase Manhattan Bank, KPMG Corporate Finance and the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), where he was Executive Director and Head of Natural Resources, Project and Structured Finance.
His qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Metallurgy and Chemistry from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Economics and Politics from the University of Melbourne, and an MBA also from the University of Melbourne. Chris is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Member of the Finance and Treasury Association.
Peter is a highly experienced lead advisor and financier with over 20 years experience in the Australian markets, covering the upstream energy, power and utilities, infrastructure, resources and sectors. As a specialist in Asian inbound investment, Peter has also developed senior relationships with corporate investors in China, Japan and Korea, as well other jurisdictions.
Peter was until recently a Partner in the M&A team at PwC, and jointly led the National Deals team in Power, Utilities and Infrastructure. He has also worked at senior levels across M&A / corporate finance, project lending and principal investment at ANZ, Citigroup and Deutsche Bank in both Melbourne and Sydney, and internally as a tax and finance advisor at Mitsubishi Oil in Tokyo.
Peter has an MBA degree from the International University of Japan and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle.
Varuna has over 15 years of experience in capital markets, financial markets and venture capital having held senior roles at Intellistrata, Omega-Global and National Australia Bank. Varuna has participated in originating and funding over $5 billion of ASX200 corporate deals and public sector sponsored project finance deals via global capital markets including bank syndications, private placements and public capital markets. He has also worked in non-institutional markets assisting high net worth individuals and family offices navigate/gain access to various global unlisted investment/wealth offerings and also connecting private businesses to strategic global partners for capital and partnerships.
Post his banking career, Varuna joined a property technology company that is redefining the corporate model as the Chief Operating/Financial Officer with direct responsibility for the growth and business development functions.
Varuna’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics and Finance (with distinctions) from RMIT University and a Graduate Diploma of Financial Services (Australian Financial Markets Association).
