The SILC Group has announced the appointment of fund governance executive Kylie Holbrook as Head of Trustee and Responsible Entity Solutions, a newly created leadership role designed to support the Group’s expanding Trustee and Responsible Entity (RE) capabilities.

Based in Sydney and reporting to Michelle Tay, Group Executive Director, Holbrook will work with the broader leadership team while leading the Group’s Trustee and Responsible Entity teams and associated fund manager relationships.

Holbrook has held senior leadership positions at Perpetual, Equity Trustees and MSC Group, bringing more than three decades of experience across trustee services, responsible entities, fund compliance and investment fund operations. Throughout her career, she has overseen governance frameworks supporting more than $100 billion in funds under management and has developed extensive expertise across regulatory compliance, fiduciary oversight and fund structuring.

Michelle Tay, Group Executive Director of The SILC Group, said Holbrook’s appointment represents a significant milestone in the evolution of the Group’s Trustee and RE platform.

“We are delighted to welcome Kylie to The SILC Group. She brings a wealth of governance experience, deep industry relationships and an exceptional track record. Kylie’s expertise aligns strongly with our strategic priorities in the wholesale trustee market and supports the expansion of our recently launched RE business.”

Kylie’s appointment comes at a time of increased regulatory focus from ASIC on transparency, governance and the management of conflicts of interest in private market funds. This is driving increasing demand for independent trustee and responsible entity services as fund managers seek to strengthen governance frameworks, shore up investor confidence and respond to heightened regulatory expectations.

Tay added that these themes were highlighted in a recent white paper published by The SILC Group, The Future of Alternatives, which examined the growing importance of governance as a trust-building mechanism and a product differentiator in an increasingly competitive environment for fund managers.

Kylie Holbrook said she was excited to join the Group at a pivotal time in its growth.

“I am delighted to be joining The SILC Group and excited by the opportunity to help take its Trustee and Responsible Entity business to the next level. SILC has established a strong reputation for providing specialist solutions to fund managers and investors, and I look forward to building on the foundation and partnering with clients to deliver practical, independent and value-added trustee and responsible entity solutions that support sustainable growth.”
