Felix Global Investment Management (FGIM) has partnered with The SILC Group (SILC) to launch the Felix Global Partners Fund (the Fund), a wholesale investment fund focused on a concentrated portfolio of high-quality global small and mid-cap companies.

The Fund is intentionally limited in capacity and provides investors with access to FGIM’s long-term, high-conviction investment strategy, targeting a select portfolio of 15 to 30 businesses across developed markets outside Australia. The Fund has been established with SILC as Trustee and licensee, providing the regulatory framework, governance oversight and Australian Financial Services Licence infrastructure required to operate the fund. Fenix Funds Administration (Fenix), a related but independently operated business within The SILC Group, has been appointed Fund Administrator. FGIM and Fenix are not related business.

In order to have the Fund meet an aggressive establishment timetable and launch by 1 July, FGIM and the SILC Trustee team collaborated with Fenix for administration as well as EY for legal services.

Matthew Thorne, Managing Member of FGIM, said SILC’s approach was a key factor in selecting its trustee and fund services partner.

“What stood out about SILC was their willingness to listen and engage from day one. We had direct access to the owners of the business, who took the time to understand our investment philosophy, operating model and long-term aspirations for the Fund. That level of accessibility helped us build a structure tailored to our needs.”

Michelle Tay, Group Executive Director of The SILC Group, said the partnership reflected SILC’s relationship-driven approach to supporting fund managers.

“Our role is to provide the governance, licensing and operational framework that allows investment managers to focus on generating investment outcomes for investors. We work closely with managers during the establishment phase to understand their strategy, objectives and growth plans, then execute a structure that is fit for purpose from both a commercial and regulatory perspective. Independent oversight remains a critical part of any fund structure, providing confidence to investors while helping managers operate within a robust governance framework.”

Nikki Bentley, Partner and Oceania Financial Services Law Leader, EY Australia said: “establishing a new investment fund requires careful alignment of legal, regulatory and commercial considerations. EY Australia was pleased to work closely with FGIM, SILC and Fenix to help implement a robust legal framework that supports efficient market entry, strong governance and investor confidence.”

Through Fenix Funds Administration, the Fund will also benefit from access to Australia’s first automated fund reconciliation capability, developed in partnership with LAB Group. The technology reduces manual processing, improves accuracy and enables faster reconciliation and investor administration outcomes.

The launch marks the beginning of a new partnership between FGIM and SILC, combining a concentrated global investment strategy designed for wholesale investors with institutional-grade governance, administration and investor servicing capabilities.

The Fund is now open for investments to wholesale investors. To obtain a copy of the Information Memorandum or for a confidential discussion about investing in the Fund, please contact The SILC Group on +61 3 9600 2828 or via email at investors@silcgroup.com.
